As autumn arrives on this humid subtropical island, the sun softens and summer’s rains relent, inviting people out from the shade to enjoy the most comfortable time of year and the season’s changing colors. This year, Lennon Tool Bar sets out on a journey through Taiwan’s mountains, seas, and the passage of time. In Yehliu, the Queen of the rocky shore stands sculpted by time and monsoons, bearing witness to millions of years of change. In Anping, gnarled roots weave through ancient trees and ruined walls that hold four hundred years of history beneath the setting sun. At Duoliang, an abandoned station keeps its quiet vigil over the boundless Pacific, awaiting the fleeting silhouette of a passing train. And in Sun Link Sea, towering cedars and ethereal mountain mist offer a peaceful retreat from the weariness of everyday life. Together, these places invite a journey through the beauty of Taiwan, one step at a time.

At Duoliang, though passengers no longer wait on its platforms, the abandoned station continues its quiet vigil over the boundless Pacific. From time to time, a train emerges from a distant tunnel, racing along the narrow stretch between the mountains and the sea. Its familiar silhouette feels like an old friend returning after a long absence, bringing with it a renewed sense of anticipation each time it appears.


About Lennon Tool Bar:

Lennon Tool Bar was founded in 2014 at Tamsui, Taiwan. Initially, it started to promote arts and crafts of Indigo Dyeing, a business that flourished a century ago in Taiwan, and at the time, Taiwan exported a considerable amount of "doroai," or the raw material of colorants used in Indigo Dyeing, to the Japanese Empire. Lennon Tool Bar draws inspiration from the traditional process and the popular colors used in Indigo Dyeing.
