The Pelikan M1000 Maki-e Four Seasons Lucky Charm combines masterful Japanese lacquer artistry with Pelikan’s renowned writing performance. Created by master artisan Ishikura Mitsuhiro of the Kaga Hoshukai, it is crafted using the sophisticated Kaga Togidashi-Takamaki-e technique, with layers of urushi lacquer and precious powders meticulously applied and polished over a deep black base. Inspired by the four suits of a traditional playing-card deck, the design reimagines Clubs as spring, Diamonds as summer, Hearts as autumn, and Spades as winter, with each suit symbolizing happiness, wealth, love, and courage and resilience.

Intricate seasonal motifs deepen the symbolism: cherry blossoms evoke spring, flowing water reflects summer, autumn leaves represent transformation, and snow patterns embody winter’s quiet strength. A handcrafted 18-carat gold nib and 24-carat gold-plated trim complete this exceptional writing instrument, bringing together fine writing performance and traditional Maki-e artistry.
