OURS 2027 Research Project Journal (Pre-Order Starts Sept 17 at 11am EDT; Shipping Starts late Oct)

Inspired by the summertime research projects in Japanese elementary schools, OURS Studio designed the Research Project Journal that comes with monthly and weekly planning pages. For each week, the planner provides a simple task or inspirational goal for you to accomplish, resembling the summer vacation assignments for elementary students in Japan.

Celebrating 10 years of the OURS Research Project Journal, this year's theme is reunion. Designed in tandem by Koopa and Hank, the cover is adorned with roses, apples, cherries, and lychees. They are all taken from Hank's daily routine of making jam over the years. To OURS, making jam with fresh fruit from loved ones to preserve and transform the flavor is much like keeping an annual journal, which you fill with memories and notes to cherish for years to come.

Each page is decorated with illustrations of fruit and seasonal objects such as cantaloupe, cherry jello desserts, and more to inspire your days throughout the year. This A5-sized planner is manufactured with a brand new Japanese MORIKAZE paper, which is a medium-weight paper that is friendly to fountain pen and stamp inks. The exposed spine binding of this planner also allows it to lay perfectly flat on surfaces.

OURS has designed the 2027 Journal to be customizable, and comes with postcard and card sized prints that can be swapped out on the front cover's slots to decorate as your mood changes throughout the year. The smaller slots can fit Polaroid photos, business cards, and photo cards, while the larger slots can fit a standard postcard. The package of the 2027 notebook will also come with a "Book of Answers" filled with journaling prompts to encourage creative writing.

Monthly Plan

Each month is displayed on a 2-page spread and comes in a minimalist design decorated with various illustrations, photos, and collage prints. Blank spacing on the left and bottom side can be used freely for extra notes.

Weekly Plan

Each week has a vertical quadrant layout spread out across two pages and embellished with spot illustrations and cute crayon color palettes. A few lines are included for each day to add a little note.

Free Pages (Research Notes)

38 free pages are added in a variety of formats that change from year to year. This year, OURS has integrated fruit with a "Ephemera Log" section so you can collect and log fruit stickers, tickets, packaging stickers, labels, and more throughout the year.

9/16/2026 Update from OURS: *2027 edition is recommended for use with gel pens, markers, highlighters, fountain pens, and most ink pads. Certain gel and fountain pens with higher ink flow may feather and/or bleed on this year's paper. OURS recommends using the included test page to try out your favorite pens and inks.

About OURS:
OURS Friends of Forest, established in 2013, is founded by a group of friends in Taiwan who loves planners and illustrations. OURS means "bear" in French, and their collaborations feature inspirations from nature, antique and symbols. Their Washi, stamps and stationery are based off of their illustrations and inspirations from various projects.
