This cover features a floral pattern inspired by the pastoral illustrations of picture book author Kate Greenaway, with pink and light blue anemones among buds and leaves, like a meadow in the breeze. About Liberty Fabrics
Liberty Fabrics is an English fabric brand founded in 1875 by Arthur Lasenby Liberty (1843–1917), who discovered the beauty of Japanese art at a World’s Fair in London. It began as a small import shop with oriental ornaments and fabrics, with its silks and hand-dyed art admired by the Aesthetic Movement. In the 1880s, Liberty started printing high-quality cotton textiles as durable alternatives to delicate Eastern silks. In the 1920s, it introduced “Tana Lawn” cotton, a lightweight fabric resembling silk. Since then, Liberty has created intricate prints full of color and complex designs.
